At ALN, we are not perfect in our execution by any means, but we really are committed to letting our four key values define and drive our culture and decision making.
Guts and Courage
We are ready, willing, and able to take on complex, challenging work on behalf of our clients. We are tenacious and determined in finding the best solutions for both their practice and ALN. We get it done.
Smarts and Learning
We hire smart, curious people to guide our clients and help solve their most challenging issues. We are always learning, looking to improve, searching for creative solutions. We do it better.
A Team Mindset
We do complex work that requires multiple points of view and talents. We believe in the power of collaboration to achieve the best results for everyone involved. We do it together.
We want our people to have time away from work to spend on the things that bring them joy, energy, and fulfillment. We know that our organization can only be healthy if our people are first. We work to live.
What Values Mean
We expect that our Values produce tangible positive experiences for those who are part of the ALN team. Here are several critical things that you can expect if you work here.
We start with the presumption that people are adults, committed to doing their job. We give people flexibility to adjust their schedule and manage their time to best fit their life within the expectations of their roles.
Healthcare is changing rapidly and so do we. We believe that the best thing we can do to protect the job security of our employees is to run hard at the changes that make us better and keep our company secure.
Through a variety of forums, such as our monthly company-wide update call, our plans and direction are shared with our teams so they can know what is driving our leadership and the decisions we are making.
Our work is complex and often requires multiple people with varying skills to come together. This shows up as groups of people sharing information and working together to find solutions for our clients.
Because we believe in our people, we regularly challenge them to push for improvements or solve big problems. We ask for hard, meaningful accomplishments…and then we celebrate and recognize the people who are responsible and deserve the credit.
We work hard but try not to take ourselves too seriously. We have a variety of events throughout the year that give us all time to connect with one another on a personal, non-work level.
How would you summarize the culture of ALN?
Hard working, challenging, always changing, respectful, fun, family oriented! ALN is a company for hard working employees who like challenging work. They treat their employees with respect. They make time for fun and make you feel like family!
What are three benefits you’ve discovered about working here that you weren’t aware of when you started?
Being seen as a whole person and not just a worker bee. It was important to me to learn that the whole company is included in a phone meeting once a month where we get to hear our owners discuss what the latest news is regarding the company. Everyone is welcome to ask questions and to participate. I have felt very appreciated by the owners, other executives, and my supervisors besides my coworkers. They seem to care about me as a person and have dispensed with the aloof feeling of hierarchy. I have really valued the patience my supervisor has shown to me when I was learning new job skills as well.
When you tell people about your job, what’s one thing that surprises them, or gets them excited about the work you do?
No drama, work/life balance, bosses/supervisors that actually care about you. Awesome coworkers, I get to listen to my own music while I work, my stress level is way down.
What is the best thing about working at ALN?
The best thing about working at ALN is they value your family as much as you do yourself. They never bat an eye if you have to stay home with a sick child and are always asking questions about how your family is doing/what they are up to. The second-best thing about working at ALN is the people they hire. We truly hire some of the best people!
What are some benefits you’ve discovered about working at ALN that you weren’t aware of when you started?
I love working on something chaotic and putting the workflows together to bring order to the situation. It sometimes feels like a puzzle game. Even hard work can be fun. I have had a lot of opportunity for professional and personal growth at ALN. The company has invested in developing my skills. Every day is different. Working at ALN is never boring.
Which value of ALN resonates with you and why?
Work-Life Balance. I have been able to spend more quality time with my family and attend events with them. I believe that extra time with them has made me a better parent and spouse. In turn, having the ability to do that, I don’t feel stressed at work or home and has made for an all-around better attitude.
