EMR Lessons Learned
Though the level of EMR adoption in independent practices is relatively low, there are many practices that have been using an EMR for years.  They have made mistakes, have met great challenges and learned many lessons. Understanding the experiences of others that have gone before you will better prepare you for the journey.

In this webinar,  Markham McHenry, DO Comprehensive Family Medicine, shares his personal experience with selecting, implementing, and using an EMR in his practice.  Dr. McHenry describes how and why he made the decisions he made, his lessons learned from the implementation process, and what his practice is like now that his EMR is woven into the fabric of his day to day operations.

Key topics
•   Practice overview
•   What motivated the decision to move to an EMR
•   The process to select the software application
•   The decision to use a hosted solution
•   Positioning the EMR with the staff
•   Training experience:  what worked, what did not
•   The transition from paper charts
•   Impact on patient volume and productivity
•   Budget and scope control
•   The biggest challenges along the way
